RESTORING YOUR PELVIC HEALTH - WHAT TO EXPECT

Your assessment and treatment will depend on your presenting condition.

Initially a confidential and detailed medical history is taken to understand the onset of your symptoms. You are taught how the pelvis and the pelvic floor muscles move and work to understand how and why you are experiencing your symptoms. Your physical assessment can involve an examination of your abdominal muscles and your breathing control. Your lower back, hips and pelvis can be examined, and you may be offered an internal assessment. This assessment can identify the tone, strength and control of your pelvic floor muscles. They are tested for strength and endurance and your baseline power can be established. Your treatment and goals can then be set depending on the findings.
