
ABOUT KATE-LYN TEMPLE JONES
Kate has worked in private practice settings throughout her career. She also ran her own Private Physiotherapy Practice in Cape Town. Kate has a passion for sports and has for large periods within her career been involved with different sporting codes and teams. Most recently she has been working with the Irish U21 woman’s hockey team and her sporting role prior to that was with the Cell C Sharks Rugby team as the long term rehabilitation and concussion physio. Other notable sports teams in which she has worked are; the South African men’s hockey team which qualified and participated in the London 2012 Olympics, the Cape Cobras provincial cricket team and Villagers club rugby side.
Kate relishes the challenge of rehabilitating her patients and returning them to their full function. She has a strong belief in stability and pre-habilitation as well.
Kate is a keen sportswoman herself. She enjoys running, playing hockey and being in the outdoors. She recently participated in the O40s Irish women’s Hockey team at the European Championships in Valencia.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Kate graduated in 2006 from the University of Cape Town. In 2014 she completed post graduate training in orthopaedic manual therapy (OMT). She has attended numerous post graduate courses on back pain, myofascial dry needling, kinesotaping, sports injuries and concussion.

Knocknacarra Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic was founded in 2000 and hasn’t looked back. It evolved into Baily Point Physiotherapy Clinic when it expanded in 2007 into a fully equipped state of the art medical premises with clinical pilates on and off site and hydrotherapy services. This medical facility was further extended in 2009 due to demand and now comprises 10 expert clinicians who provide the most up to date evidence based treatments available. We also pride ourselves on our caring approach & going the “extra step” for each of our patients.
Michael himself has always been involves in post-graduate training and describes himself as a bit of a conference/course “junkie”. His areas of special interest and advanced practitioner qualification include spinal pain, vertigo/headache rehabilitation, orthotic prescription & biomechanical assessment. He is a fully qualified DMA clinical pilates instructor with additional qualifications in occupational health and ergonomics, hand therapy and dry needling.
In previous years Michael has treated professional sports people, elite runners, triathletes, swimmers & cyclists. Michael has also been seriously involved with local athletic, triathlon & cycle clubs and has provided county level team coverage to Meath & Kildare GAA footballers and the Galway senior hurling team.
