RHEUMATOLOGY
Rheumatology is the branch of medicine involved with rheumatic disease, arthritis and disorders of the joints, muscles and ligaments.
Arthritis means “Joint inflammation” and refers to disease of one or multiple joints. There are many forms of arthritis and in turn specific treatments and medications for each type.
We work closely with Rheumatologists with the shared aim of preserving and maximising joint function, mobility, independence and quality of life. In certain advanced forms of inflammatory arthritis, surgical joint replacements require specific pre and post surgical physiotherapy rehabilitation.
