ABOUT NECK PAIN
Neck pain can result from a specific injury or the cumulative effect of poor posture. Injury to any of the structures of the neck including the muscles, ligaments, nerves, joints & discs can cause symptoms. Depending on the structure & the extent of injury, neck pain may be localised or alternatively refer to the shoulder blade, shoulder, down the arm or sometimes upwards to the face & scalp. Most injuries cause symptoms of pain & stiffness, but symptoms of muscle weakness, spasm, tingling, numbness and headaches can also result from neck injury.
Neck pain is a very common occurrence affecting 10-15% of the population at any one point in time and 70% of the population suffering at some stage in their lives.

ABOUT BACK PAIN
80% of the population will experience low back pain at some stage in their lifetime. It is the most common complaint seen in our practice and is the cause of much sick leave in Ireland. Most people will recover from an episode within 2-6 weeks, although it re-occurs in 30% of cases.
Back pain sufferers should seek early professional advice, to establish an accurate diagnosis, implement a successful treatment plan and accelerate their recovery to pain relief & full function. Multiple structures (muscles, ligaments, facet joints, nerves and discs) can cause pain when injured. Symptoms can be localised to the back or alternatively refer into the buttock & further into the leg.
Our musculoskeletal physiotherapists are experts in the assessment & management of back related disorders and use a variety of successful advanced treatment techniques.

”Top class service from Michael Gallagher - many times over the years has "fixed me" with sensible and practical solutions and advice, including one occasion where others had suggested more drastic actions which would have had serious implications for myself. Highly recommended!

”Thanks to Michael and the team at Baily Point Physio. After visiting them in August with knee problems they sorted me out with orthotic insoles and an exercise routine. Since then (2months ago) I have climbed Kilimanjaro twice with no knee problems – a great result. Highly recommend them.
